James “Jimmy” Thomas Whittaker of Enterprise passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Medical Center Enterprise.  He was 57.

 

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Wesley Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time.

 

In keeping with his wishes to help other people, his body was donated to the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan.

 

Jimmy was born June 6, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth “Lit” Whittaker; a sister, Beth Grantham; and two nephews.

 

Survivors include three daughters: Traci Sherlock of Slapout, AL, Staci Turner (Jim) of Ozark, AL, and Casi Bohart (Robert) of Autaugaville, AL; brother, Wayne Whittaker (Lois) of Eufaula, AL; two sisters: Jane Elmore and Donna Gilmore (Ronnie), all of Enterprise, AL; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special nephew, Todd Helms (Angie); special friend, Diane Speigner.

 

A special thanks goes to Southern Care Hospice, especially Sherry, Travis, and Jenny, and to his many friends who made it possible for him to remain at home.
