James Taylor, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at his residence. He was 88.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service.


James was born on December 27, 1929 in Harlan County, Kentucky and there he spent the early years of his life. In 1960, he followed that Hillbilly Hwy. north to Michigan where he soon met, fell in love with and married his beautiful bride, Susan Taylor. He was employed with Jones Motors in Troy, Michigan as a truck driver. James and Susie where married for 45 years, until her passing in 2006. He loved the outdoors, fishing, his family, and was an avid Nascar fan. He always enjoyed the companionship of his K-9 friends over the years.


Survivors include his children: Kim Taylor, Jamie Taylor Seay, and Jimmy Taylor; his grandchildren, Dustin Seay and Lily Taylor; sisters-in-law, Judy Deal, Kathy Kleback and Robbie Davis; a cousin, Jessie Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he adored.
