Mr. James Wilburn Dunn of Samson, AL passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. He was 88 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Samson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Craddock and Rev. Teresa Gilland officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The family request that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Samson First United Methodist Church: 204 West Main Street, Samson, AL 36477.

Mr. Dunn was born in Geneva County, AL on June 18, 1929 to the late Grady Wilburn and Buna Maloy Dunn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Ann Norris Dunn.

He is survived by  one daughter and son-in-law, Lynne Dunn Rand (Don) of Hoover, AL; one son and daughter-in-law, Jamey Dunn (Tracey) of Dothan, AL; four grandchildren, Leah Elizabeth Rand of Auburn, AL, Olivia Grace Rand of Hoover, AL, Zachary Wallace Nowell of Auburn, AL and Emma Grace Dunn of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Bobbie Dunn Caldwell of Samson, and Betty Jean Dunn Head (Richard) of Santa Rosa, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be: Walt Logan, Jeff Baxter, Sandy Hammer, Chris Head, Chris Capps, and Britt Caldwell.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Fred Head, DeWayne Dozier, E.C. Barnes, Gene Davis, Robert Holley, and Bennie Beckham.
