Mrs. Jane Atkinson Linton, 81, formerly of Dothan, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, after an extended illness at her home in Wickliffe, Ohio.


Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Joe Bateman conducting services. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Avon, with Kendall Glover directing. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Friday, September 7, 2018 at Glover Funeral Home.


Flowers are being accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.


Jane was born June 10, 1937 to John and Avis Atkinson in Sumter, SC.  She was a 1955 graduate of Andalusia High School and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Mrs. Linton worked as a personnel specialist at Ft. Gordon, Georgia and later retired at Ft. Rucker, Alabama.  She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and Colonial Dames.


She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Linton, Sr.; infant son, Joseph Watson; brother, John Atkinson.


Survivors include: son, Robert Watson, Wickliffe, OH; 2 daughters, Patricia Edwards (Charles), Atlanta, GA; Phyllis Phillips (Doug); brother, Ed Atkinson, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers will be: Paul Edwards, John Edwards, Walker Watson, Harry Watson, Spencer Cannegieter and  Philip Atkinson.
