ABBEVILLE. . .Jeanette Baker Green, a resident of Abbeville, died early Thursday morning, February 1, 2018, at her home. She was 86.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018, in the New Zion Free Will Baptist Church, Tumbleton Community, with Reverend Randy Stokes and Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to God’s Way Baptist Church, 271 Pleasant Hill Road, Eufaula, AL 36027.


            Mrs. Green was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community and moved to Abbeville in 1969.  She was a member of God’s Way Baptist Church. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her father, George B. Whitehead, her mother, Alma Murray Bulger, her step-father, Guy Bulger, her first husband, Odell Baker, a son, Ricky Baker, a grandson, Bryan Heath Galloway, and two sisters, Geraldine Carter and Catherine Hurst.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Charles Odell Green; a daughter, Janice Galloway (Terry), Dayton, TN; three sons, Randy Baker, Tumbleton Community; Dennis Baker, Daleville; and Wayne Baker, Newville; a sister, Nell Rich (Dan), Kinsey; two grandchildren, Devin Galloway and Tammy Barnes (Jimmy); and four great-grandchildren.
