Jeff Schulmerich, a former resident of Ashford, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Paris, Tennessee. He was 54.


A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Eddie Henderson, Sgt. Jason Adkins and Judge Rose Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am.


Jeff was born on January 1, 1963 in Ft. Campbell, Tennessee. He joined the US Army and served for 8 years. Jeff moved to Dothan in 1999 and was employed with the Dothan Police Department where he served for 20 years before his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and loved to play golf. Jeff was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Peace Officers Association.


Survivors include his children, Lauren Casey Schulmerich, Lynda Marie Schulmerich, Ethan Blane Schulmerich, Henry Lee Schulmerich, and Levi Joseph Schulmerich; his step-son, Ian Alexander Kirkland; his father, William Schulmerich; his mother, Kay Schulmerich; and his sister, Carla Ball.
