Jessica Hernandez, 17, a resident of Pansey died Saturday July 9, 2016 of injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 pm on Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 pm on Thursday.

Jessica was born on August 29, 1998 in Houston County and lived in Dothan all of her life. She was a 2016 graduate of Northview High School. Jessica was an animal lover and took joy in nurturing and taking care of them. She loved to paint and draw. Jessica was an active member of St. Columba Life Teen Group and contributed her artistic talents to vacation bible school for younger children.

Survivors include her parents, Maricela Rodriguez and Ciro Hernandez; her brother, Homero Rodriguez; her sisters, Crystal Hernandez, Ariel Hernandez, Erika Hernandez, Thalia Hernandez, and Alondra Hernandez; her grandparents, Cresencia Nieves, Juan Hernandez (Mexico), Maria de la luz Aguilar, and Homero Rodriguez (Mexico); a host of cousins and friends also survive.

Pallbearers will be members of the St. Columba Catholic Church Life Teen Youth Group.
