     JoAnne Whitehurst Shelley went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday morning, October 15^th at her home.

     JoAnne was a loving mother and wife who shared her love for sports and teaching English with countless students. She retired from the Houston County school system. She loved her neighbors Ashley and Jeffrey Murdoch along with their children Madison and Lexi as if they were her own.

     JoAnne was preceded in death by her father, E. D. Whitehurst and her son, Lee Allen Driggars.

     JoAnne is survived by her husband Ronnie Shelley of Ashford; her son and his wife, Matthew and Kathy Shelley of Montgomery; her mother, Doris Cannon Whitehurst of Cowarts; her sister, Pamala Faye Holloway of Cowarts; brother-in-law, Coley Holloway, Jr; and niece, Emily Holloway of Cowarts.

     A special thanks to Mrs. Suzzane Ray and Virginia Singletary for the many years of laughter and fellowship you shared with her.

     Visitation will be held at Memphis Baptist Church on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6 PM until 8 PM with a celebration of her life Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2 PM at Memphis Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery.

     The family will be accepting flowers.
