John Fred McCall of Samson, AL passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home. He was 64 years old.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

The family request casual dress for those attending the service, come as you are.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Samson Baptist Academy, 100 West Main St, Samson, AL 36477.

Mr. McCall was born on April 10, 1954 to the late John Davis McCall and Andree McCall Holley. Fred was a 1972 graduate of Samson High School. After graduation, Fred attended and graduated from McArthur Technical College. He successfully owned and operated his own electrical business for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his dogs around in the back of his Jeep. His favorite saying was, “Everyday is a holiday and if you have to work, it’s a paid holiday.”

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Blalock McCall of Samson; two daughters, Jessa and Christa McCall both of Samson; one sister, Linda McCall Hammer (Sandy) of Samson; one brother, Ricky McCall of Samson; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Margaret Blalock of Samson; step-father, Robert C. Holley of Samson; brother-in-law, Andy Blalock (Jane) of Samson; nieces and nephews, Jay McCall, Elizabeth Hammer Shanks (Adam), Sarah Blalock, and Hannah Blalock all of Samson; one great niece, Kate Hammer-Skinner of Samson; one great nephew, Samuel Shanks of Samson.
