Mr. John Watson Jr. of New Brockton passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Enterprise.  He was 88.

 

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Medley officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Sunday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time.

Mr. Watson was born March 27, 1929, in Coffee County.  He was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lindsey Watson; his parents: John B. Watson and Kate Stephens Watson; two brothers: Massey and Hulan Watson; one sister: Peggy Hyatt; and a granddaughter, Tasha Weigandt.

 

Survivors include his son, Van Watson (Debra) of Enterprise; daughter, Jan Moore (Thomas) of Elba; five sisters: Lois Grant of New Brockton, Frances Lindsey of New Brockton, Sara Cooper of New Brockton, Shirley Yarborough of Geneva, and Jean Sowell of Stone Mountain, GA; three grandchildren: Kaley and Wyatt Moore, and Chad Hall; four great-grandchildren: Macie & Millie Hall, and Haley & Hunter Weigandt; numerous nieces and nephews.
