Johnie Ruth Pelham Meadows, 92, of Dothan passed away after an extended illness Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Westside Terrace.

 

Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Cloverdale Baptist Church with Dr. Ray McKenzie and Reverend Vann Cooley officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday May 24, 2017. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Benevolence Fund at Cloverdale Baptist Church where Mrs. Meadows was a Charter Member. 

 

Ruth was born on November 25, 1924. She worked during her early years at Tindell Livestock Auction in Graceville, Florida and the Jackson Company in Dothan. She then worked as Custodian of Funds at Dothan City Schools where she retired in 1984.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Meadows; parents, Vester and Lala Pelham; and numerous sisters.

 

Survivors include her sons, Ron Meadows (Mona) of Dothan and Richard Meadows (Becky Roland) of Abbeville; grandchildren, Marla Hodge (Steve), Rachel Pattillo (Lee), Jessica Moore (Randy), Luke Meadows (Rachel), Samantha Meadows, John David Meadows, Meredith McNeal (Joseph), David Roland (Farrah) and Madison Roland; sisters, Mildred Enfinger and Elvie Collins (Hilton); 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
