     Judy Harris Cullifer, age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Ridgewood Manor in Dalton.

     Mrs. Cullifer was born in Hartford, Alabama and was reared in Ashford, Alabama where she was a 1960 graduate of Ashford High School. She received an A.B. Degree from Samford University and a M.A. Degree from West Georgia College. Mrs. Cullifer was a retired teacher from the Whitfield County Schools and previously taught in the DeKalb County Schools. She liked traveling to the beach, enjoyed playing the piano and the clarinet and loved spending time visiting with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lois Harris; a brother, James Lewis Harris and a sister, Jeanette Harris.

     She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Terry Cullifer of Dalton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mandi Cullifer of Cartersville and Mark Cullifer of Atlanta; one sister, Betty Arnold of Marianna, Florida; four grandchildren, Bryant, Charlie, Trent, Annie Cullifer; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

     A funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. (EDT) Thursday, August 30, 2018, in the Dalton First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (CST) Saturday, September 1, 2018, in Gardens of Memory between Headland and Dothan, Alabama with Reverend Greg Aman and Mr. James Doswell officiating. The family will receive friends at Holman-Headland Mortuary from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Saturday.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dalton First United Methodist Church, Alzheimer’s Association, Ross Woods Adult Day Services or Whitfield Education Foundation.
