K.V. “Pollywog” Pate


K.V. “Pollywog” Pate, age 76 of Ashford died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his residence under the care of Covenant Hospice and surrounded by his family.


Funeral services for Mr. Pate will be held at 11AM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church in Ashford with Reverend George Bryan and Reverend Coley Myer Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 10AM until service time.


Mr. Pate was born March 17, 1942 to the late Levi and Odera Morrison Pate. He retired from Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union # 72 after many years. Mr. Pate was also a 32 Degree Master Mason and attended Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed Alabama football,  Nascar and Taylor Made Opry and for many years worked with Farley Taylor. Of everything he did in life, nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren.


Mr. Pate is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sherrie Pate; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rejeanna and George Haddan and Kelly and Virgil Vann, all of Ashford; five brothers, two sisters, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive.


Care for the Pate family is being provided by Jason Shepard, Randy Crenshaw & Staff at Family First Funeral & Cremation Care.
