Karen Elaine Barker McCoy of Geneva went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. She was 58 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Steve Wegmann and Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 1009 West Maple Ave, Geneva, AL 36340.

Karen was born on August 11, 1959 to the late William Lamar and Wilma Lee Lewis Barker. Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She absolutely adored her grandchildren. She also had a strong passion for cats; helping them anyway she could, never turning away a stray.  She was a graduate of Geneva High School Class of 1978. She was a member of Maple Avenue Baptist Church. She was very active in church all of her life. She enjoyed playing piano, singing in the choir, assisting with children’s and youth ministries, and any other way she was needed.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Alan McCoy of Geneva; one daughter, Felicia Pyle (Roger) of Bonifay, FL; one son, Chris McCoy (Heather) of Geneva; three grandchildren, Jason Pyle, Caleb Pyle both of Bonifay, FL, and Lynleigh McCoy of Geneva.
