Karen Mullins Wooley, a resident of Madison Heights Assisted living in Enterprise, AL, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family and is now in the Glory of the Lord.  She was 80 years young.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 5, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Bowden and Dr. Bill Montgomery officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:00 P.M.


She was an honor graduate of Enterprise High School and a member of various clubs and a majorette in the band.  Karen was named Miss Enterprise and National Peanut Festival Queen in 1955.  She graduated from Montevallo College and taught school at Luverne, Alabama and at Enterprise High School.


She and her husband, Wilson, were dutiful members of First Baptist Church Enterprise and she always put her family first with love and care and supported her husband through his military career.  Karen’s second love was being a member of her Sunday School Class and participating in weekly bridge club, along with her love of people, smiling personality and desire to help others.


Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Zona Martin Mullins, lifelong residents of Coffee County.


She is survived by her husband, Col. Wilson C. Wooley USA (Ret.) and her children, Sharon Wooley Lowers (Ben); Kathleen Wooley Wood (Paul); Warren Wooley (Shannon).  This includes her 10 grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Lauren, Melanie, Matthew (Lowers); Andrew, Stewart (Wood) and Addison, Emma Katherine and Georgia (Wooley).
