EUFAULA. . .Kathleen Johnson Wimbish, a resident of Eufaula, died early Friday afternoon, September 8, 2017, at her home. She was 92.


            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 10, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Sam White officiating and a eulogy to be given by Jackie Wimbish. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, c/o Peggy Wood, 204 Marina Drive, Eufaula, AL 36027.


            Mrs. Wimbish was born in Randolph County, Georgia and was reared near Blakely, Georgia, daughter of late William Fudge and Nettie Floyd Fudge. She lived in Dothan and White Oak Creek on Lake Eufaula before moving to Eufaula in 2003. Mrs. Wimbish was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and formerly served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post No. 5850 in Eufaula. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Hilton Johnson and Robert B. “Bob” Wimbish, a daughter, Judy Johnson Wright, a granddaughter, Kelli Lynn Wright, a step-son, Perry “Sonny” Wimbish, and three brothers.


            Surviving relatives include four daughters, Kathy Falkner (Morris), Headland; Pam Sharpe (Jimmy), Eufaula; Robin Fleming (William), Edgefield Community; and Ann Becker, Wicksburg; a son-in-law, Roger Wright, Midland City; seven sons, Bobby Johnson (Susan), Panama City; Bruce Johnson (Sharon), Savannah, GA; Randy Johnson (Debbie), Panama City; Mike Johnson (Susan), Abbeville; Doug Johnson (Edie), Opelika; Bob Wimbish (Melissa), Dothan; and Jackie Wimbish (Pam), Dothan; two sisters, Betty Johnson, Abbeville, formerly of Dothan; and Margaret Holley, Dothan. numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.


            Serving as active and honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
