Kathryn Janice Cain Boyd, 85, of Dothan died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joseph Johnson and Rev. Ashley Drake Mertz officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10-11:30am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pastors Discretionary Fund, Evergreen Presbyterian Church, 1103 N. Pontiac Ave., Dothan, AL 36303 or to the charity of their choice.

Mrs. Boyd was born on November 13, 1931 in Brookhaven, MS. She graduated from Brookhaven High School and received an AA degree from Copiah Lincoln Jr. College in 1951. Their son, Zack, was born in 1953 and they settled in Dothan in 1961. Janice retired from GMAC in 1992. She was an active member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church, loved singing in the choir and volunteering with the Food Pantry.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Eddie Cain, her sisters, Estelle Brown, Dorothy Franklin, and Mildred Prestridge.

Mrs. Boyd is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alton Boyd; her son and daughter-in-law, Zack and Polly Boyd; her brother, Ben Ed "Jake" Cain; several nieces and nephews.
