HEADLAND. . . Kenneth Alton Jinks (Sgt. U. S. Army, Retired), died Wednesday night, December 13, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 60.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.


            Mr. Jinks was born in Oahu, Hawaii, son of the late Kenneth Lavelle Jinks and Mary Frances Miller Jinks. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while his father served in the United States Army. Mr. Jinks graduated from Wallace Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Sciences. He later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from Troy University. Mr. Jinks was retired with the rank of Sergeant from the U.S. Army Reserve in Dothan. He was formerly employed by the Sara Lee Corporation and was a Licensed Assisted Living Administrator in the State of Florida.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Janice Clements Jinks; three daughters, Somer Holland (Jordan), Dothan; Taylor Jinks, Auburn; Haleigh Jinks, Headland; five sons, Kenneth A. Jinks, II (Brian Harris), Panama City, FL; Kyle Jinks (Jessica), Ashford; Kalen Jinks (Sarah), Headland; Tanner Carmichael (Lauren), Dothan; Christopher Carmichael (Whitney), Dothan; two sisters, Debra Porter (Lani), Scottsdale, AZ; Kay Elliott (Mark), Vicksburg, MS; six grandchildren, Nathan Jinks, Mary Katherine Jinks, Kyleigh Jinks, Emma-Lynn Carmichael, Maryn Carmichael,  Mason Carmichael and Samuel Alton Holland; his mother-in-law Jeanette Clements, a sister-in-law, Liz Jones (Jay); brothers-in-law, Ashley Clements (Tori), Dwayne Clements (Kathy); numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Erica Clements.
