DOTHAN. . .Kenneth Eugene Davy, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, December 29, 2017, in a Dothan hospital. He was 58.


            Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, near Newton, with Reverend Jerry Glover officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, c/o Mary Gilley, 2005 County Road 55, Newton, AL 36352.


            Ken Davy was born in Baltimore, Maryland and lived most of his adult lifetime in Maryland before moving to Dothan in 2014. He received a college degree from Troy University. Ken was a member of the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan and Baltimore Orioles baseball fan. Ken was preceded in death by a son, Ken Davy, Jr., his father, Harlan Sammons and his mother, Mary Crandell.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Jessica Kincaid Davy; a daughter, Elizabeth Davy, Dothan; two sons, Chad Sammons, Pennsylvania; and Kevin Sammons (Kaitlyn), Georgia; two sisters, Jean Meadows (Jeff), Goshen, AL; and Geneva Williams (Buddy), Dothan; three brothers, Ron Sammons, Kentucky; Butch Sammons (Linda), Baltimore, MD; and Billy Sammons (Paula), Prattville, AL; five grandchildren.
