Kirsten Nicole (Rafinski) Elliott was born in Ansbach, Germany on 15 October 1993 and passed on 5 July 2018 in Seoul South Korea. 


 


The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise on Sunday evening, 15 July 2018 from four to six P.M.  On Monday at 10 A.M.  a celebration of life will be held at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating, followed by the burial at Meadowlawn Cemetery.


 


Kirsten experienced life from Germany to Enterprise Alabama, Fort Bragg North Carolina, Rio De Janeiro Brazil, St Louis Missouri, Johnstown Pennsylvania, Koszalin Poland, city of Vinhedo Brazil, Valparaiso Indiana, to Seoul, South Korea. 


 


From her early years her parents, through the Church, Girl Scouting and other activities, instilled the strong commitment to community service. She volunteered with various organizations including local food pantries and animal shelter drives, magazine collections for nursing homes, made hats for children fighting cancer, highway cleanups, providing cookies for troops overseas, and others.  She earned several honors including achieving the Girl Scout Gold award alongside her sister Aubrey.  Kirsten enjoyed two years with the Rotary International living in Poland followed by Brazil.  She loved building snow forts and going to the movies with her brothers Dodge and JD, and was one for the outdoors from horseback riding, to shark tooth hunting, swimming, fishing, or motorcycle riding with Michael.


 


Kirsten moved back to Enterprise, Alabama where she met and fell in love with Michael Elliott of Springtown, Texas.  They were married, and in 2017, they were stationed in South Korea. She had a gentle giving spirit and joyful smile that left a lasting impression on everyone she met around the world. 


 


Kirsten is survived by her husband, Michael Elliott; mother, Renee (Licina) Kudrna; fathers, Dan Kudrna, and Scott Rafinski; sister, Aubrey Rafinski; and brothers Dodge, and JD Kudrna, grand grandparents: Rose Ann and Joe Licina, Daryl Bartylla, Joyce and Don Kudrna; and great grandmother Luciana Barsanti; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, her many very close friends, and especially her host families of the Rotary Club exchanges.


 


In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Valparaiso Rotary Club Memorial Foundation, INC.  in memory of Kirsten Rafinski Elliott / Youth Exchange Program.  Valparaiso Rotary club, P.O. Box 522, Valparaiso, In. 46383.
