Lalay Elizabeth Moore Whitaker of Bonifay, FL passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Carmel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Whitaker was born in Geneva, AL on September 3, 1934 to the late J.P. and Pinkie Donaldson Moore. She absolutely adored her family, and loved every minute she spent with them.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by seven brothers, Ocie, Sr., Otis J., Arthur, Hubert, Jearl, Curtis, and Donald Ray Moore; one sister, Lois Lee.

She is survived by her loving husband, George W. Whitaker of Bonifay, FL; one daughter, JoAnn Petrov and husband Steve of Ponce Inlet, FL; two granddaughters, Cheryl Plasterer and husband Scott, and Lori Kempton and husband Brian; two great grandchildren, Brycen and Zoe Kempton; two sisters, Donna Faye Williams, and Geraldine Baxley; one brother, James Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
