Leroy Coleman, Sr. a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday December 7, 2018 at his residence. He was 95.


Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Dothan Community Church with Dr. W. Charles Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends 10-11 am prior to the service at the church. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory cemetery with Robert Byrd directing.


Mr. Coleman was born February 23, 1923 in Orange, NJ. He lived his earlier years in Montclair, NJ and was employed with Western Electric since 1952. After 28 years of service, he and his wife retired and moved to Dothan in 1981 and resided in the wiregrass area for the past 37 years. Mr. Coleman loved photography and enjoyed taking photos of family, outdoors, and special events. He also enjoyed working on the family farm in Gordon growing roses and pecan trees. Mr. Coleman was a dedicated member of Dothan Community Church.


Mr. Coleman is preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Coleman.


Survivors include his son, Leroy Coleman, Jr and his wife, Denise of East Orange, NJ; 2 granddaughter, Jennifer Clifton and her husband, Larry; his grandson, Joshua Coleman; and his sister, Dorothy Reed.
