COLUMBIA. . .Lucy Faye Lisenby Burkett, a resident of Columbia, died early Thursday morning, June 29, 2017, in UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was 73.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2017, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Freeman, Reverend Jim Corley and Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Springs Baptist Church, c/o Sharon Elliott, 12039 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319.

            Mrs. Burkett was born and reared in Henry County, daughter of the late Carl Lisenby, Sr. and Alice Wilson Lisenby. She lived in the Camp Springs community of Henry County since 1983. Mrs. Burkett was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. Mrs. Burkett was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Paul Lisenby.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Kenneth R. Burkett; a daughter, Amelia Faye Burkett, Columbia; a son, Kenneth Mitchell Burkett (Rose Mary), Stigler, Oklahoma; two sisters, Joan Holland (Marvette), Newville; and Mary Helen Worrell (Donald), Dothan; two brothers, Carl Lisenby, Jr., Abbeville; and Harmon Lisenby (Darlene), Alabaster, AL; three grandchildren, Jesse Burkett, Dale Burkett and Audrey Burkett; three great-grandchildren, Rayleigh Burkett, Kinsley McCall and Adeline Burkett; several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active and honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons.
