Luther "Buddy" Edward Curry, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 61.


Memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7 pm prior to the service.


Mr. Curry was born on April 28, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland and lived his early years in Quincy, Florida. Following his graduation in 1974 from Shanks High School in Quincy, FL, he moved to Dothan, Alabama where he was employed with the Pepsi-Cola Company. He was later employed with the ABC store for the past 20 years. Mr. Curry loved to work with his hands, enjoyed making crafts and collected pocket knives.


Survivors include his father, Edward Dewitt Curry, Sr.; five sisters, Beverly Ann Wessinger, Shirley Jean Kimbrough, Bonnie Sue Smith, Kathy Lynn Dickerson and Judy Elaine Spencer; five brothers, Larry Wayne Johnson, Hayward Melvin Johnson, James Aaron Johnson, Charles William Johnson and Edward Dewitt Curry, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
