ASHFORD. . .Lynette Penuel Forehand, a resident of Ashford, died early Friday afternoon, August 19, 2016, at her home. She was 81.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. (C.D.T.) Sunday, August 21, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Kevin L. Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary in Headland. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon (E.D.T.) Monday, August 22, 2016, in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran, Georgia.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Cowarts Baptist Church Building Fund, 2819 Jordan Avenue, Cowarts, AL 36321.

            Mrs. Forehand was born and reared in Henry County, Alabama, near Newville, daughter of the late Thomas Marvin Penuel and Dewey Mae Hodge Penuel. She formerly lived in Columbia, SC and Atlanta before moving to Houston County, near Cowarts, in 2001. Mrs. Forehand attended the Cowarts Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry M. Forehand, Sr., a son, Jerry M. (Maxie) Forehand, Jr., a daughter, Janet Forehand Keen, three sisters, Blondell Owens, Louise Eubanks and Mary Moring.

            Surviving relatives include a sister, Tommie Jean Starling (Charlie V.), Ashford; several nieces including, Vicki Jackson (Bert), Diane Jinks (Morris), Sharon Smith (James), and Linda Jordan; and several nephews.
