Margaret Jeanette Jones Avant, 997 Pridgen Pond Rd Kinston, Alabama, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the age of 77.

 

Funeral service will he held 2:00p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama with Sister Brenda Jones officiating.  Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva, Alabama.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on the day of the funeral and continue until funeral time.

 

Margaret was born February 20, 1942 in Coffee County Alabama to the late Alcus and Annie Lou Bass Jones.  She was retired from Van Heusen as a sewing machine operator after 40 years of service.  She enjoyed her flower garden, shopping, watching Gunsmoke and Bonaza .  She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them.

 

 

Preceded in death by her parents; one sister; Elaine Donaldson; four brothers; Alcus Lamar “Man”, Bill, Monroe and Ronnie Jones.

 

Survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth Avant of Kinston, Alabama; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Tina Avant, Kinston, Alabama, brother; Larry Jones (Tammy), Asbury Community, two sisters; Patricia Avant (Joe), Kinston and Nell Griffin (Tim) of Geneva, Alabama, two grandsons: Alex Demham and Codey Pate (Malorie): one great-grandson: Kai Pate; special brother& sisters-in-law Doug & Faye Avant and Brenda Jones and a number of special nieces and nephews.
