Marion Leroy Lawford age 87, a resident of Elba, Alabama entered into eternal rest Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Enterprise Health & Rehabilitation Center in Enterprise, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at the Elba First Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dwight Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Hayes Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held at the Elba First Assembly of God Church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted or those wishing to make memorial contributions are ask to do so to the Elba First Assembly of God church in honor of Mr. Lawford.

     Leroy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was the cornerstone of his family and always saw their needs were met. He retired from Dorsey Trailers as an inspector where he worked over two decades. Most importantly, he was a Christian and always put God first in his life, instilling those same values in his children. 

     He is survived by his Wife of 69 years -Brunice Avanell "Nell" Lawford, Daughter - Fran Lawford, Son - Dennis (Susan) Lawford, Son - Wayne (Betty) Lawford, and Son - Terry (Cindy) Lawford all of Elba, Alabama. He also leaves behind Granddaughter - Pam (Billy) Bell, Dothan, AL, Granddaughter - Stephanie Adkison, Elba, AL, Grandson - James Kevin Lawford, Elba, AL, Granddaughter - Kerri Lawford (Jason) Fulton, Elba, AL, Granddaughter - Whitney Vaughan (Bill) Kirkland, Elba, AL, Granddaughter - Heather Lawford (Anthony) Strickland, Albuquerque, NM, Grandson - Joshua (Claire) Lawford, Birmingham, AL, and Granddaughter - Lyndsey (Josh) Elliott of Enterprise, AL, along with a Brother - Donald (Ann) Lawford, of Elba, Alabama. 

     Mr. Lawford was preceded in death by his parents Mary Ruth Ward Lawford and George Burns Lawford.

 

     Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama is serving the Lawford family.
