MARJORIE  NORTON  NOLEN


DOTHAN. . .Marjorie Norton Nolen, a resident of Dothan, formerly of Columbia, died early Saturday night, December 10, 2016, in the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. She was 83.


            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 12, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Brother Tommy White officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pathway Baptist Church, 3511 Flowers Chapel Road, Dothan, AL 36301.


            Mrs. Nolen was born and reared in Wicksburg, daughter of the late William Talmadge Norton and Myrtle Lee Casey Norton. She lived in Columbia most of her adult lifetime before moving to Dothan in 2008. Mrs. Nolen was a member of the Pathway Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was retired from the Bank of Columbia as a Cashier. In earlier years, she was employed by Bell Fertilizer Plant in Columbia, the First National Bank of Dothan and General Telephone. Mrs. Nolen was preceded in death by her husband, Linton Nolen and a brother, Bill Norton.


            Surviving relatives include her son, David M. Nolen (Karen), Dothan; three grandchildren, Anna Nolen, Hope Nolen and Karla Watkins;  a sister, Betty Mobley, and a brother, Bobby Norton (Madie), all of Dothan; special caregiver, Valerie Underwood; several nieces and nephews.
