Martha B. Pitzing, 79 years old, went home to her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Uptain officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 10:45 am prior to the services. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 901 Montezuma Avenue, Dothan, AL, 36303.

Mrs. Pitzing was born July 14, 1938 in Brooks County, Georgia, to Joel and Mattie Bishop.  She eventually moved to Blakely, Georgia, and resided there for 30 years before moving to Dothan in 1993.  Mrs. Pitzing was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  She loved her church family very much, especially the youth.  Mrs. Pitzing enjoyed gardening and going to the beach.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a true matriarch. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years Joshua R. Pitzing; 3 children Mike (Valencia), Suzanne (David) and Jeff; grandchildren, Grace Darling, Joshua Darling (Thayer), Jacob Darling, Clay Pitzing and Zac Pitzing (Susana).
