Marvin Joe Cobb, Sr.

Marvin Joe Cobb, Sr., age 81 of Dothan passed away early Wednesday morning, May 30, 2018 at home under the care of Kindred Hospice.

Funeral services for Mr. Cobb will be held at 11am Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Chapel of the Angels at Woodland at Family First Funeral Care with Pastor Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Family First Funeral Care. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service time, beginning at 10am.

Mr. Cobb was born in Houston County on August 26, 1936 to the late Jimmie D. and Annie Virginia Bass Cobb. For most of his life he lived in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida where for over 40 years he served as the personal assistant to the owners of Lee Nissan in Ft. Walton Beach (formerly Lee Pontiac, Olds & GMC Dealership). Prior to that he worked over 14 years at Hayes International, Napier Field, AL.  He was also Baptist.  Mr. Cobb moved back to Dothan earlier this year due to his illness.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cobb is preceded in death by sisters Earnestine Cobb, Dothan, Melba Pullen, Dothan, brothers Ray Cobb, Dothan, Edward Cobb, Leslie, GA. He is survived by two daughters Robbie and Edward Harden of Dothan, Sandra and Ray Sanders of Athens; two sons, Bobby Joe Cobb of Taylor, Marvin Joe (Marty) Cobb, Jr. and Hailey of Dothan; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Gwen Cobb of Hartford. Mr. Cobb is also survived by six grandchildren Heather Cobb, Henry Cobb, Morgan Ming (Drew), Demi Brightwell, Sydney Cobb, Nathan Cobb and four great-grandchildren Trevor Cobb, Cade Cobb, Henry Cobb and Elijah Ming.
