Mary Cardinal Goree

Mary Cardinal Goree passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 in Tallahassee.  

Born September 17, 1927 in Montgomery Alabama, the daughter of William and Martha Cardinal. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clinton F. Goree, Jr; her son, Clinton F. Goree III;  and granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Goree. She is survived by her sons, Bob Goree of Tallahassee and Bill Goree of Dothan Alabama; her daughters in law, Susan Goree, Jane Goree, Lisa Goree; her grandchildren Clint Goree, Kai Goree, Seth Goree (Erin), Neal Goree and Mary Hannah Goree; great grandchildren Cohen, Sarah and Anna Goree and brother Edward Cardinal.

Mary was proud of raising three sons and teaching them the Golden Rule and to give respect all people.  An avid reader of history, she was active in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and for decades, Democratic party politics. She loved music and could sing most of the Great American Songbook. In later years, she was dominate in trivia games at Consulate Health Care where she left many dear friends and loving staff. The Goree family extends thank you to those sweet caregivers.

The family plans a Celebration of Life in the near future.
