Mary E. Bowden, age 88 of Dothan, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the McMullan Chapel at Hutto Towers with Pastor Tommy White officiating and Family First Funeral Care directing. Viewing will be Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Family First Funeral Care Chapel from 10am until 4pm. The family will also host friends beginning at 10 am Thursday until service time at McMullan Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Bowden was born in Dothan to the late Willie Byrd and Ruby Davis Elmore. She graduated from Houston County High School and for many years she was the Executive Secretary for the Family Service Agency in Panama City where she lived for many years before moving back to Dothan. For the past 10 years, Hutto Towers has been her home and where her friends were like family. She was also a member of Pathway Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowden is preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, J. Davis Bowden and Katie LeBaron of Weed, CA, and a grandson, Anthony Robert Bowden of Dothan.

Family First Funeral Care is in charge of the arrangements of Mary E. Bowden.
