MAUDIE  PEARL  COOK  DAVIS



HEADLAND…Maudie Pearl Cook Davis (Miss Bob), a resident of Headland, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2019, at her home. She was 94.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Union Springs Baptist Church, near Newville, with Reverend Guy Causey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in c/o of Josie Whiddon, 359 County Road 145 East, Headland, AL 36345.


            Mrs. Davis was born and reared in Henry County, near Clopton, daughter of the late Alto Lee Cook and Sara Pearl Cook. She was a lifelong resident of Henry County and was a member of the Union Spring Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husbands, Dock Davis and E T Downs, Jr., her daughter, Cathy Davis, five sisters, Ethel Bailey, Inez Blankenship, Ella Foy Riley, Bobby Nell Shay and Mary Alice Wood, and three brothers, Leroy Cook, James L. Cook and Floyd Cook.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Terry Davis (John Danford), Tamarac, FL; a son, Tim Davis (Denise), Abbeville; four grandchildren, Kellie Smith Dingus (Jon), Sam Davis (Deonne), Nicole Davis and Brooke Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Ella Daube, Abby Dingus, Jill Dingus, Sara Grace Dingus, Maddox Davis, Madison Vines and Mason Vines; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, William Blankenship.


            The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and nurses of Covenant Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Davis during her illness.
