Maurice Curry Holmes

Mrs. Maurice Curry Holmes, age 93 of Pinckard died early Monday evening October 15, 2018 at her home after a long illness and under the care of Kindred Hospice.

A private family only graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in the Pinckard Cemetery with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating and Family First Funeral Care directing.

Mrs. Holmes was born and lived most of her life in Pinckard daughter of the late Allen Payton Curry and Quida Clements Curry.  She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Dothan, an avid Bridge player and very much enjoyed golfing, water skiing and fishing.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James R. Holmes, a grandson James Allen Holmes, Jr., and her brother Payton Curry.

Survivors include her son Jim Holmes and his wife Pat of Pinckard, 4 grandchildren Lisa Burbank and her husband Warren, Heath Holmes, Bryan Holmes and his wife Wendy, Chris Hughes and a special niece Claire Phillips and her husband Tom.
