            BLACKWOOD COMMUNITY…. Mr. Michael P. Locke, a resident of the Blackwood Community, near Headland, died early Saturday morning, September 22, 2018 at his residence. He was 52.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Blackwood Church with Reverend Jerry Hughes and Reverend Kevin Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Derek L. Wright and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 A.M. in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

            Mr. Locke was born in Eufaula and moved to Taylor, near Dothan as a young adult before moving to Headland in 1998. He was retired from the City of Dothan as a supervisor in the Traffic Control Division. Mr. Locke was an avid gun collector and enjoyed going to gun shows, in addition to collecting antique bibles. He was a member of Blackwood Church. Mr. Locke was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Jean Wells.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Jennifer Sellers Locke, Headland; two daughters, Ashley McPhail, Columbiana, AL and Allison Locke, Headland; a son, Alex Locke, Headland; a granddaughter, Scarlett Wood; father, Wallace Locke, Baker Hill; brother, Matthew Locke, Dothan; step-father, Bobby Wells, Dothan;

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Marty Johnson, Joe Marshall, John Sellers, Brantly Sellers, Rux Bentley, and Brennen Bowen.
