MONTGOMERY. . .Miriam Parmer Charping, a resident of Montgomery, formerly of Clopton, Alabama, left this earth on October 7, 2018, at her home, to claim her space with her Lord and Saviour.  She was 95.


     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday,October 10, 2018, in the Anderson Baptist Church, near Blue Springs, Alabama, with Reverend Bill Hovey officiating and a eulogy to be given by her son, Lamar Parmer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


     Due to Mrs. Charping’s love of flowers, all flowers are welcome and appreciated. 


     Mrs. Charping was born May 31, 1923 in Barbour County, as the middle child of Wiley C. Baxley and Erie Bryan Baxley. She lived between Blue Springs and Texasville and also lived in the Clopton Community before moving to Montgomery in 2015. Mrs. Charping was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a retired seamstress with West Point Pepperell in Abbeville. She was an active longtime member of the Anderson Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and her home was the focal point and envy of the Clopton Community. Mrs. Charping was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilson Parmer and John Charping, a daughter, Lanett Tharpe, a son, Ladon Parmer, a grandson, Kevin Parmer, sons-in-law, Charles Wells and Webster Tharpe, six sisters and three brothers.


     Surviving relatives include a daughter, Emma Lathaniel (LP) Wells, Montgomery; a son, Lamar Parmer (Charlotte), Hamilton, GA; a step-son, John Charping, Ozark; a daughter-in-law, Eula V. Parmer, Blue Springs; a brother, Charles Baxley, Abbeville; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Carol Cripple.
