Mr. Bennie Gerald Granberry, age 87, of Dothan passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.


 


Born February 19, 1930 in Houston County to the late Bertis Granberry and Ethel Guy Granberry Burnham, Gerald attended Bethel Baptist Church. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Gerald was a retired farmer and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.


 


In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brothers, Myras Granberry and Wayne Granberry; brother-in-law, Rodney Andrews; sister-in-law, Betty Brooks


 


Gerald is survived by his wife, Betty of Dothan; his daughters, Hope Taylor (Rollins) of Dothan, and Beth Granger (Gary) of Dothan; son, David Granberry (Donna) of Dothan; sisters-in-law, June Granberry of Cottonwood, Annette Granberry of Dothan, and Bobby Strickland (Dan) of Dothan, and Janet Andrews of Birmingham; brother-in-law, Dr. William Brooks (Susan) of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Michael Taylor (Jessica), Brooke Ausley (Curt), Timothy Taylor (Jessica), Ben Granberry (Molley), Jackson Granger (fiance’ Zoe Arnold), Davidson Granberry, Marilaine Granberry; great-grandchild, Clara Beth Ausley; special caregivers, Cathy Draughon, Ann Forehand, and Kindred Hospice nurses and caregivers.


 


Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 5-7 PM.


 


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund or Kindred Hospice.
