Charles Clancy Turner Jr. of Geneva, AL. died Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the age of 77.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Geneva First Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Scott and Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating.  Burial will be in the Friendship Community Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  Visitation will be Tuesday September 4, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, Geneva, AL.

Mr. Turner was born June 25, 1941 in Montgomery, AL. to the late Charles Clancy and Gladys Carol Grant Turner Sr.  He was a 1959 graduate of Geneva High School and graduated in 1963 in Agricultural Education and completed his masters in 1968 both from Auburn University.

He was a well-known farmer and was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association, Alabama Peanut Producers and Farmers Federation. He served as a past vice-president of Alabama Peanut Producers, President of Farmers Federation and was past member of the state Alfa board.  He was always a spokesman for agriculture.  He was a former school teacher at Samson High School and Holmes County High in Bonifay, Fl.  He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Geneva, Al. and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by parents.

Flowers will be accepted or donations to be made to the First Baptist Church P.O. Box 579 Geneva, Al. or the Shriner’s organization for transportation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon C. Turner, Geneva, AL.; two daughters, Cindy and Joe Mosley, Daphne, AL. and Charlotte Miller of Gainesville, VA.; six grandchildren, Lucy Mosley, Auburn, AL., Grant Miller, Hermitage, TN., Tyler Miller, Gainesville, VA., Russ Mosley, Daphne, AL., Savannah Miller, Denver, CO. and Caroline Miller of Auburn, AL.; one brother, James D. “Dan” Turner (Jean) of Geneva, AL.; and a number of special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbears; Burt Lawson, Allen Brewer, Jim Turner, Russ Mosley, Tyler Miller and Grant Miller.
