Mr. Doyle Clessie Bryson, age 75, of Gordon, formerly of Elyria, OH, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at SEAMC, joining his wife after her death 3 weeks ago.

Born August 28, 1941 in Chattanooga, TN to the late Clessie Doyle and Josie M. Sullins Bryson, he retired from Ford Motor after 28 years. He and his wife moved to Alabama 4 years ago to live with his son because of medical problems he and his wife had. He enjoyed trap shooting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He was able to fish anytime he wanted as his son Mike has a pond.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Carol, who passed away December 23, 2016. They would have celebrated their anniversary January 13, 2017. He is also preceded in death by a grandchild who passed away a day after birth.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Bryson Mohler, Atlanta, GA; his sons, Daniel Bryson, Lawson, MO and Michael Bryson, Gordon, AL; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Witt and Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Assembly of God Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will be accepting flowers.
