Mr. Edward Lamar Hinson of Headland passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at his residence. He was 80.


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Don Clark and Billy Gene Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, October 30, 2017. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.


Edward was born on December 14, 1936 in Campbelton, FL to the late James Hinson and Alma Hutto Hinson. Mr. Hinson was a graduate of Cottonwood High School, and a lifelong resident of Dothan. He was the owner of Hall’s Wholesale Florist, where he began the floral business at the age of 18. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was an avid Alabama fan.


Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nora J. Hinson.


Survivors include daughters, Lisa Krueger (Steve) of Huntsville; Nikki Mims-Utnick (Kevin) of Headland; grandchildren Foster Krueger of Pensacola, Fl.; Kaylie Mims of Headland; Conner Mims (Adrianna) of Japan; Lacey Utnick of Headland; Lainey Utnick of Headland; and great-grandchildren Isaiah Windham of Headland and Stormie Windham of Headland.
