Obituary: Mr. Freddie G. Helton

Mr. Freddie G. Helton of Daleville passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 65.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Christ Community Church in Enterprise with Rev. Johnny Bryant officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Mr. Helton was born July 14, 1952 in Blountville, TN to Julia Greer Helton and the late James Edward Helton. Freddie served honorably in the United States Army and retired from the Civil Service after many years of service. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and tending to his chickens. He was a loving husband, adoring father and grandfather who will be profoundly missed.

In addition to his father, a daughter, Lisa McMahon preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Godwin Helton, Daleville; children: Rita Burris, Daleville, Beth Seaton (Curtis), Austin, TX, James Helton (Alisha), Seattle, WA, Lee Helton (Jeri), Wichita Falls, TX, Russell Helton, Fort Walton Beach, FL and Kenneth Helms (Valerie), Titusville, FL; mother, Julia Greer Helton; siblings: Betty Johnson, Bonifay, FL, Patsy Strother, Pineville, LA, Dovie Dean, Kinston, AL, Jimmy Helton, Rogersville, TN and Johnny Helton, Church Hill TN; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
