Mr. Gerald Hood Love, age 77, a longtime resident of Dothan, died suddenly on Wednesday September 21, 2016 at the river in Early County, Georgia.

In honoring Mr. Love’s wishes there will be cremation service with a private family memorial service held at a later date.

Mr. Love was born March 19, 1939 in Eupora, Mississippi to the late Curtis Hugh and Maude Esther Martin Love.  Mr. Love retired from being the director of the Southeast Alabama Youth Services for over 40 years.  He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

 Mr. Love was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Love and a brother Hugh Martin Love.

Survivors include his wife Anne Sowell Love, Dothan; a daughter Angela Love Frierson (Graham), Midland City; two sons, Steve Love, Headland; Mike Love, Wicksburg; and a stepson Taylor McKee, Dothan; 9 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
