  Mr. J D Childree, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday evening, March 7, 2019, in Flowers Hospital.  He was eighty-eight years old.  Condolences may be expressed at www.HolmanFuneralHome.com


A memorial service for Mr. Childree will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Tim Burgess officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.


Mr. Childree was born April 9, 1930 in the Arguta Community of Ozark, Alabama to the late R. A. Childree and Alice Belle Langford Childree. He spent most of his life ministering to people.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leana Knight Childree;  three brothers, Billy Childree, Harold Childree, and Charles Childree (Missing).


Survivors include one son, Lee Childree (Heather) of Lakeland, Florida;  two brothers, Donald R. Childree and Larry O. Childree (Betty) all of Ozark; two sisters, Mary Nell Adkins of Dothan and Sara Jean Bowman (Billy Wayne) of Ozark; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Childree and JoAnn Carroll Childree of Ozark.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
