John Richard Thomas, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle. He was 72.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 5 PM until 6:30 PM and beginning at 6:30 PM there will be a service in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Dr. Brent Parker officiating. Following the services the family will meet at Selma Baptist Church for food and fellowship.

 

Mr. Thomas was born May 12, 1945 in White Springs, Florida to the late R.D. and Gertrude Brannon Thomas. He moved to Dothan eight years ago. Mr. Thomas was a mechanic and farmer and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

 

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife Carolyn Thomas; sons, John L. Thomas, William Box; daughters, Sherry Renae Thomas, Mandy Lopez; special daughter in law, Debbie Schrock; special father in law, Billy Swearengin; grandchildren, Robert Lee, Shannon, JP, Austin, Steven, Alyssa, Amy, Juana and Alex; sister, Mary Ann Thomas; brothers, William Thomas, Paul and Patti Thomas.
