Mr. Johnny Mathis of Geneva, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the age of 66.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Johnny was born December 13, 1951 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Milburn and Alma Pynes Mathis.  Johnny was a 1970 graduate of Geneva High School, he loved fishing, and was an artist, a woodcarver, and enjoyed glass etching.  Johnny worked at the Cotton Mill for many years before retiring from Twitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Faye Teal and brother-in-law, Jim Teal.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Roberta Mathis of Geneva, Alabama, one nephew, Art Teal, one niece, Susie Brinley, and five great nephews; Art Teal Jr, Aaron Teal, Nicholas Brinley, Steven Brinley and Christopher Brinley.
