Mr. Lenard M. Henderson, of Dothan, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018. He was 84.
Born April 15, 1934, in Alabama to the late Arthur and Coca Ila Davis Henderson, Lenard was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army and loved the outdoors and gardening. He will be remembered for his flower and vegetable gardens and the love for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Henderson; his son, Johnny Henderson; four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include his daughters, Shelia Fuller (Kevin) and Sheryl Phillips; his son, Ricky Henderson; his brother, Edward Earl Henderson; his grandchildren, Jaclyn Marasco (Paul), Christopher Henderson, Katie Nichols, Jessica Henderson, Mara Phillips, Megan Phillips, Mallorie Phillips, Matthew Phillips, and Sandra Kaye Fuller: six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Reverends Tom Anderson and Bradley Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM, prior to the service.
The family will be accepting flowers.
