Obituary: Mr. Louie Herman Tomlin

Mr. Louie Herman Tomlin of Hartford passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 after loosing his battle with kidney disease. He was 67.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Highfalls Assembly of God Church with Pastor Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Tomlin was born August 15, 1951 in Geneva County to Louise Tomlin and the late Louie Tomlin. He absolutely loved to fish, didn’t matter if the fish were biting or not, he could sit there all day. He finally had to give up fishing several years ago due to health. His hobby the last year or so was to watch the birds and squirrels come and eat out of their feeders. He could sit there for hours and watch them and really enjoyed watching the squirrels fight over the corn cobs. Mr. Tomlin began his journey of serving the Lord 42 years ago and continued to hold steadfast in his faith in God to the very end. He said “I’m so tired and I’m ready to go home.” We will surely miss him, but we have comfort in knowing he is in a better place in heaven being able to walk the streets of gold and has no more pain.

In addition to his father, Louie Tomlin; his maternal grandparents, Hulet and Edna Brooks; his paternal grandparents, Ida and Shelley Tomlin all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Tomlin; his mother, Louise Tomlin; his son, Jason Tomlin; his daughter, Tammy Brock (David); granddaughter, Gracie Brock; grandson, Justin Brock (Breanna); great-grandson, Jackson Brock; brother, Kenny Tomlin; niece, Jessica Hughes (Donnie); great niece, Hannah Hughes; great nephew, Donnie Hughes;  Mr. Clayton Miller, a special friend, he made during his short stay at Wiregrass Nursing Home.; other extended family and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Hartford Rescue Squad for taking such good care of our loved one during his many transports. Thank you to Dialysis Clinic in Geneva for the wonderful service they provided. Thank you to the Wiregrass Nursing Home for helping take care of our loved one while he was a resident. Thank you to Kindred Hospice of Enterprise for helping us take care of our loved one during his final days and for being there for us during this difficult time. Also, thank you to all of our friends and family who visited, called, brought food and prayers. It was all greatly appreciated.
