Obituary: Mr. Randall Carpenter


 


Mr. Randall Carpenter of Wicksburg passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 72.


 


Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Cox officiating  and Juston Carpenter delivering the eulogy.  Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Carpenter was born June 30, 1945 in Houston County to the late O.H. and Bonnie Beasley Carpenter.  Randall grew up working on the family farm, and continued to farm there all his life.  In his spare time, Randall enjoyed recreation with family and friends, and especially loved raising and riding cutting horses.  Randall was an honest, loyal friend to many, and was loved and admired by his family and community.  He will be sorely missed.


 


Randall is preceded in death by O.H. Carpenter, Sr. (father), Bonnie Beasley Carpenter (mother), T.W. Beasley (uncle), and Gloria Smith Carpenter (sister in-law).


 


Survivors include his wife, Kathy Bond Carpenter; son, Jason Driggars and wife Lacey, grandson, Jonah Driggars; sister, Sara Carpenter Woodham and husband John Doyle; brother, Hulon "Junior" Carpenter; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.


 


 Serving as Pallbearers will be Dan Reese, Danny Holloway, James Aman, Rodney Reeves, Bobby Knight and Jimmy Grantham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewey Enfinger and Jimmy Clark.
