Mr. Raymond Davis Taylor, age 79, a resident of Dothan, Alabama (formerly of Kinston, N.C.) died Saturday October 14, 2017 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan following a brief illness.

Memorial service will be held Friday October 20, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. (EDT) at the Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston, N.C. with Steve Roman officiating.  A private burial will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Taylor was born on July 16, 1938 in Richlands, N.C. the son of Joe Taylor and Molcie Sanderson Taylor.  He was retired as a Tech SGT with the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and then retired from the FAA following 20 years of service.  Mr. Taylor was a past member of the VFW in Kinston, N.C. and he was of Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Ann Hobson Taylor.

Survivors include: son, Raymond Lynn Taylor (Joy), Dothan, AL.; 2 grandchildren, Ashleigh Martin, Dothan, AL.; Jordyn Taylor, Birmingham, AL.; 2 sisters, Edna Schlegel, Indiana; Jean Eubanks, Arizona; 3 sisters-in-law, Joyce Byrd, Kinston, N.C.; Judy Morris (Tommy), Maryland; Faye Hill (Eddie), Kinston, N.C.; brother-in-law, Carl Tripp (Beth), Greenville, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
