Obituary:  Richard Anthony Podnar

Mr. Richard Anthony Podnar, of Daleville, passed away July 8, 2017 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 70.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Justin Tindoll officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.

Mr. Podnar was born September 11, 1946 in Granite City, IL to the late Anthony and Ann Snider Podner.  He served in the US Army where he retired after 22 years of service.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.

Survivors includehis wife, Gladys McDonald, Clayhatchee; one son, Brett Podnar, Vail, Colorado; one daughter, Heather Hughes (Justin), Virginia; step-son, Scott Remple (Cory), Daleville, AL; step-daughter, Nikki Boyett (Scott), Clarksville, TN; sister-in-law, Diane Knoebel, Clayhatchee, AL; three cousins, Elaine Vassar, Michelen Bounds, Ralph Kern, all of Shreveport, LA; 7 step-grandchildren: Justin, Riley, Becca, Jenna, Ashton, Danni, Payton; four grandchildren: Braden Podnar, Eliot Podnar, Henry Hughes, Fionia Hughes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
